BREAKING NEWS - This just in from Gary Pipkin of the RMRHA - RMRHA Summer Slide a Sizzling Success - Craig Schmersal captured both the first go and finals of the Open Futurity by tying 1st place each time with both of his top entries, Boom Shernic owned by Cheryl Hadrych of Brenham, TX and Once A Von A Time owned by Holy Cow Performance Horses, LLC, Santa Ynez, CA.
Reserve in the Open Futurity was Jackson Porath riding Roosters Passion owned by George & Robyn King, Idaho Falls, ID. Keith Crawford captured both the Non Pro and Stallion Stakes Non Pro Futurities on Hollywood Yankee, owned by Keith Crawford Farms. Josh Hattig took reserve in both Non Pro events on Dudes Whippersnapper owned by Brad Hattig of Berthoud, CO. The Summer Slide continued its tradition of breaking 1,000 entries over the 6 day show.
Organizational Review
NRHA President Mike Boyle has put together a Task Force to do an 'Organizational Review' of the NRHA. This review Panel consists of Sam Houston, Terry Griffin, Steve Harris and Jack Covington. This panel is mandated to review all areas and departments of the NRHA as it exists today and report their findings to the Executive Board.
“I felt it necessary for us to provide better customer service, and to do so a review of the organization was necessary. We examined using outside third party consultants, however the cost was prohibitive. I thank the Panel for taking on this large task,” stated President Boyle.
Youth National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show
Reining will be featured in a clinic to be held on Saturday, July 28, from 2-5 p.m. in the Horse Arena at Expo New Mexico during the Youth National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show. The Reining clinician will be NRHA Professional NRHA Derby Limited Open division champion Crystal McNutt Brock of Scottsdale, Ariz., with featured guest NRHA Professional and Two Million Dollar Rider Shawn Flarida of Springfield, Ohio. NRHA Australian Affiliate Championship
Gatton, Queensland, Australia is the location of the very first NRHA Australian Affiliate Championship, which also includes Judges and Show Secretary seminars. There’s something going on from July 31 through August 1-6.
