Breaking News - Gallo Del Cielo has reached Two Million Dollar Sire status!
Thanks to Janis Anderson, here are highlights of the Manntana Classic Futurity and Derby, which took place this past weekend.
NRHA Million Dollar Rider Todd Bergen wasn’t about to let his Manntana Futurity Championship title slip away. For the third year in a row, he claimed it … but this year he co-championed with Idaho Falls, ID trainer, Jackson Porath. Todd was aboard Northwest Whiz owned by Charles Medows, while Jackson showed Roosters Passion for owners George and Robyn King. They both scored a 227.
The $10,000 added Non Pro Futurity was won by Samantha Griffin riding Shining Whiz owned by her dad, Lance Griffin.
Duane Latimer scored a 226.5 to win the $15,000 Open Derby on the Manntana LLC entry, Little Whiz Chic.
Sally Broten won the $7,000 Non Pro Derby riding her own Dreamy Little Sailor.

AHC Lobbied and Won for Horse Transport
The AHC lobbied against and prevailed in getting provisions removed from the final version of a U.S. Department of Agriculture funding bill that would have adversely affected the transport, import and export of horses. Thanks to AHC’s diligence, the bill passed on August 2 without the detrimental section.
