Countdown Now On For World’s Premier Reining Event

Oklahoma City, OK – October 11, 2007 – It’s the most elite reining event in the world bringing together the most amazing riders from the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). All competing for more than $1.5 million dollars in cash and prizes at the 2007 NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show set for November 22-December 1 at the Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, OK.

The NRHA Futurity is the premier event for three-year-old reining horses. At the end of the finals on Saturday, December 1, one rider is guaranteed a check for $125,000 as well as a whole host of incredible prizes from our NRHA Corporate Partners and other award sponsors.

The Adequan® North American Affiliate Championships (NAAC) is the culmination of a year of grueling competition for NRHA North American reiners across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The riders must first qualify at their affiliate circuit shows. The top ten riders in each division advance to one of nine Regional Affiliate Finals events. The top four riders plus ties in each division at the Regional Affiliate Finals are invited to compete in the NAAC to see who the best reiners on the continent are.

Besides phenomenal reining, there are numerous other events to see and do at the NRHA Futurity. Reiners and their families are invited to join the Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) for Americana Day; a Thanksgiving Day Feast benefiting the RHSF.

Advance tickets are $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 10. Tickets will be available at the door for $40.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids. Americana Day begins at 11:00 am Thursday, November 22 in the Sale Arena in Barn 3.

Next to the Non Pro and Open Futurity Finals, one of the most crowd-pleasing events will be the 4R Performance Horses 8 Second Celebrity Slide. So who are the “celebrities?” How about superstars from the Professional Bull Riders? No Bull! They’re buckin’ tradition as they hop on some of the NRHA’s best and smoothest slidin’ reiners! The RHSF has an all-star line up of the most popular Professional Bull Riders. The bull riders will receive a little up close and personal training from an all-star line up of NRHA Million Dollar Riders and their young friends from Make-A-Wish. Proceeds from the 4R Performance Horses 8 Second Celebrity Slide will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma. Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 24 at 5:00 pm.

The prestigious $100,000 added FEI World Reining Masters competition is coming back to the NRHA Futurity this year. International competitors from many countries will travel across oceans and continents to find out who is the most elite individual reiner in the world. Riders from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Israel, Mexico and the Netherlands have confirmed they will make the trek to Oklahoma City for the FEI World Reining Masters on Thursday, November 29. More countries are expected to join the World Reining Masters competition in the coming weeks.

Other must see events at the 2007 NRHA Futurity Show include an Invitational Freestyle competition, the North American Freestyle Championships presented by Century Investment Group, the $10,000 added Open class presented by Rhodes River Ranch, a special clinic with Stacy Westfall presented by Horse & Rider magazine, the Champagne Brunch with Legends, and three exceptional horse sales featuring futurity prospects, show horses, yearlings and other prospects and producers including the NRHA/Markel Insurance Breeders Select Showcase, NRHA/Markel Insurance Marketplace, and NRHA/Markel Insurance Futurity Prospect sales.
