Great Food & Great Fun for a Great Price at the “Taste of Reining”

Oklahoma City, OK – April 25, 2007 – The Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) is ready to serve up great food and great fun during the “Taste of Reining” at the 2007 NRHA Derby set for May 14-19 at the Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The RHSF’s “Taste of Reining” has become one of the most highly anticipated events at the Derby each year. It features mouth-watering dishes from some of Oklahoma City’s most popular restaurants and it’s also a great way to support the Foundation at the same time.

This year’s “Taste of Reining” kicks off Friday, May 18 at 5:00 pm at the Cantina inside the State Fair Arena. For just $10, payable at the door, patrons can dive into cuisine from a variety of local restaurants like Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, Cocina De Mino, Ingrid’s Kitchen, Ovations Food Service, Zio’s Italian Kitchen and Hooters!

Several of the restaurants have made the “Taste of Reining” a yearly tradition. Mansoor Kazemi, General Manager of Cattlemen’s Steakhouse says it’s a win-win situation between Cattlemen’s and the RHSF. “We love the reining community, and each year the ‘Taste of Reining’ boosts our business. We like to do anything we can to help.”

The RHSF’s Taste of Reining Cookbook will also be available to purchase for a special Derby price of just $5. The cookbook makes a great gift or addition to a personal cookbook collection. It’s chock full of NRHA member’s best recipes and anecdotes!

The idea behind the “Taste of Reining” came from RHSF Board of Directors Member Terry Owens. Now in its third consecutive year, Owens is thrilled the event has become so popular. “It is such a rush to see an event that started out as a way to promote the Taste of Reining Cookbook turn into one of the most fun and anticipated events at any of the NRHA Shows. This is a great time for socializing and really getting to know our fellow reiners ‘out of the show pen’ and all the while generating funds for the Foundation. Great fun, great cause, great price!” All proceeds from the Tasting, as well as the cookbook sales, will benefit the RHSF.

The Reining Horse Sports Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and enhancing the sport of reining worldwide. This is accomplished through five core programs: Crisis Fund, Youth, Hall of Fame, Research, Education, and International Development.

For more information on how you can invest in the sport of reining by making a contribution to the RHSF, contact Heather Cline (rhsf@nrha.com or 405-946-7400, ext. 137) or visit the Foundation website at www.reininghorsesportsfoundation.org.
