2006 NRHA Futurity Sales Hit Record Highs
Oklahoma City, OK December 29 The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) announces another record breaking year at the 2006 NRHA Futurity Prospect Sale held during the NRHA Futurity at the Oklahoma State Fair Park. The top selling futurity prospect went for $195,000.00! Its the latest in a string of record breaking sales on horses at the NRHA Futurity sales the past few years. The Futurity Prospect Sale is just one of three sales held each year at the NRHA Futurity. Also included are the NRHA Breeders Showcase Sale and the NRHA Marketplace Sale.
Debbie Drinko is the coordinator for the NRHA sales. She says the sales held each year during the NRHA Derby and Futurity uphold the fairness of the NRHA. Drinko says, Our buyers and sellers have the reputation and the integrity of the NRHA behind them. The Futurity and Derby sales are managed by the NRHA under the direction and guidance of the NRHA Sale Committee.
During the NRHA Futurity Prospect Sale held December 2, the sale of 50 horses grossed over $1,500,000.00. The average sale was $31,646.00. But the record breaking bid of $195,000.00 came from Gustgaynia Revenberg of Ontario, Canada. Revenberg placed the highest bid in the history of the NRHA Futurity Prospect Sale for Hesa Smokin Shiner (Shining Spark x Smoking Sana). The two year old palomino stallion was consigned by Ron Thompson.
Top seller at the NRHA Marketplace Sale held December 1 was the yearling stallion Dipped In Crome (Custom Crome x Sailing Doll), consigned by Steve Simon. Lance Griffin had the winning bid of $40,000.00 for the chestnut stallion. At the Marketplace Sale, 134 horses changed hands grossing $1,076,950.00 with a sale average of $8,037.00.
Green Valley Ranch purchased the high seller at the NRHA Breeders Showcase Select Sale held November 30. Green Valley Ranch had the winning bid of $48,000.00 for Gunflower (Colonels Smokingun x Slidin Miss Daisy). Gunflower has NRHA Lifetime Earnings of $14,968.00 and is bred to the 2001 NRHA Futurity and 2003 NRHA Derby Champion RR Star (Like A Diamond x RL Miss Kitty). Gunflower was consigned by Rancho Oso Rio, LLC.
