Important News: The 2006 NRHA Futurity Schedule has Changed
Oklahoma City, OK – November 14, 2006 – The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is announcing a change in its schedule for the 2006 NRHA Futurity and Adequan® North American Affiliate Championships. The CRIO International Reining Challenge (IRC) presented by Frozen Partners set for Thursday, November 30 has been cancelled. Dan Wall, Executive Director of the NRHA says, “Having the World Equestrian Games and the World Reining Masters Finals both this fall made it very difficult for riders to find horses and for countries to fund teams to get to the IRC. Therefore, in the best interest of the horses and riders, we decided to cancel the event.”
Now spectators will have two nights of freestyle competition in the North American Freestyle Championship presented by Century Investment Group! In Freestyle competition both horse and rider dress up in costume and perform their own choreographed Reining pattern to music. The North American Freestyle Non Pro Championship will move to Thursday, November 30 at 8:00 p.m. in place of the IRC.
The North American Freestyle Open Championship will remain on Friday, December 1 at 7:00 pm. Get your tickets early because both nights of the North American Freestyle Championship competition will sell out fast!
The NRHA Open Futurity Finals will remain on Saturday, December 2 at 6:00 pm. The Futurity features the top three-year old horses. One rider will walk away with a check for $125,000. In addition, the NRHA Open Futurity winner will also take home a trailer from Elite Trailer Co., a handmade Advantage saddle from Pard’s Western Shop, and the coveted Morrison bronze trophy as well a host of other prizes.
Tickets are available through the Oklahoma State Fair Box Office. For more information call (405) 948-6827, or go to nrha.com.
