NRHA TAKES YOU INSIDE THE SPORT OF REINING ON TV

Oklahoma City, OK – October 3, 2006 – We have exciting news about the action packed sport of Reining and the National Reining Horse Association. Beginning in January 2007, the NRHA will begin taking you inside the sport of Reining through a new television show airing on RFD-TV.

The Wide World of Horses presents NRHA Inside Reining will be hosted by longtime NRHA member, Sam Houston. The brand new show will feature training tips from some of the top reiners around the world. During the twice monthly broadcast, Houston will take viewers on a tour through several of the most popular Reining ranches across the nation. Inside Reining will offer a unique look inside the world of Reining, the men and women involved in the sport, and the lifestyles they lead. Everything from the tack you need to choosing the right horse to training your ride to pull off those amazing spins and sliding stops, you’ll find it all on Inside Reining.

NRHA Executive Director Dan Wall says, “Inside Reining is a great opportunity to provide horse owners and those who just love horses a look at our world of Reining. We’re confident that the more they know about Reining and the people who have a passion for our sport, the more they’ll want to participate. This is, by far, our most aggressive effort to increase the popularity of Reining.”

“The NRHA will be launching several marketing initiatives to capitalize on this increased interest generated by Wide World of Horses presents Inside Reining. Inside Reining is not just entertainment, it is also educational,” says David Patterson, Director of Marketing and Communications for the NRHA. “Reining is not only a sport and lifestyle and Inside Reining will explore both. We’ll have training tips that will make better horsemen out of the folks who watch the show. It will be a great way to expand our base of participating members and non-participating partners.” To date, there are about 14,000 NRHA members in more than 35 different countries.

The Wide World of Horses presents NRHA Inside Reining will air on RFD-TV beginning January 8, 2007. The show can be seen every other Monday night at 9:30 CST, as well as two other times each week on DIRECTV and DISH Network. Wide World of Horses is a 30-minute weekly program featuring a broad spectrum of the equine world’s most exciting events and individuals, now including the sport of Reining. Cheryl Magoteaux, Marketing Manager for True South, LLC, which created Wide World of Horses, welcomes the NRHA as a prominent part of their show. “We feel that presenting NRHA’s Inside Reining on Wide World of Horses will create new fans for this discipline. Just off the excitement of the Reining events at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, this is a perfect opportunity to really showcase what has been called the dressage of the western world.”

Inside Reining is the next step in marketing the sport of Reining by taking viewers inside the sport of Reining. A perspective many horse lovers have never seen before. Even if you are an experienced reiner or just starting out at the grassroots level, there’s something for everyone on The Wide World of Horses presents NRHA Inside Reining coming to RFD-TV in January 2007.
