Top Riders Represent Their Countries during FEI World Reining Masters
The list is growing!  There are even more riders who will be traveling across oceans and continents to compete in the 2007 FEI World Reining Masters competition held Thursday, November 29th, during the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show.

The $100,000 added FEI World Reining Masters is an annual competition to find the most elite individual reiners in the world. The USA, Canada, Italy, Germany and Switzerland will be allowed to send their top two riders to the Masters. Those five countries were finalists at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany.  As well as competing for the $100,000 purse, the riders will also be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in two divisions: Open and Restricted.

Meet Your Favorite Bull Riders - Tickets Selling Fast!
The phones at the Reining Horse Sports Foundation’s office are ringing off the hook!  There’s a whole lot of excitement right now for the RHSF’s latest fundraising event!  It’s the 4R Performance Horses “8” Second Celebrity Slide set for Saturday, November 24th!  Several popular bull riders are in training, as we speak, for a test of skill and determination on top of a smooth sliding reining horse.  Bull riders J.W. Hart, Cody Lambert, Justin McBride, Cord McCoy, Ross Coleman, Matt Bohon, Rob Smets, Paulo Crimber and Ednei Caminhas will hop on top of a reiner for the ride of their life. Their equally famous reining trainers are several top NRHA Two Million Dollar Riders, Million Dollar Riders, and NRHA Professionals.  The trainers will also be assisted by kids from Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma®.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite bull rider “up close and personal” at a VIP Reception at the conclusion of the event. Tickets to the VIP Reception are $100 and can be purchased by contacting RHSF Coordinator Heather Cline at 405-946-7400.  Ticket sales are limited so don’t delay!  Proceeds from the 4R Performance Horses “8” Second Celebrity Slide and VIP Reception will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma®. Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 24th at 5:00 pm.

Enjoy Thanksgiving Day Feast with your NRHA Family
Reiners, their families and friends don’t have to miss a traditional Thanksgiving just because they’re in Oklahoma City for the NRHA Futurity & Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show. The first annual Americana Day Thanksgiving Feast, hosted by the Reining Horse Sports Foundation, will take place November 22 in the new Sale Arena in Barn 3.

The meal will feature roasted turkey, country ham, cornbread dressing and all the trimmings, plus a variety of desserts for $25/adult and $10/children 10 and under. Children under 2 are free. Tickets at the door are $40 for adults and $15 for children. Proceeds benefit the RHSF and reservations are requested. The meal will take place between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Ovations Catering Service will be preparing the food and beverages for the Thanksgiving Day Dinner. This traditional holiday meal will be prepared with many recipes that have been handed down from family members and NRHA members to achieve the down-home flavors that everyone will love.  For more info, call 405-946-7400 ext. 137, email rhsf@nrha.com or visit www.reininghorsesportsfoundation.org.

Pack Your Pink for the Futurity
PINK will be the color of the day on “Think to Wear Pink” Wednesday, November 28, at the National Reining Horse Association Futurity.  Exhibitors, staff and fans are all being asked to wear pink in recognition of the “Rein In Cancer” campaign.

Pro Management, Inc., of Byars, Oklahoma, is sponsoring a special promotion to help recognize and promote the fight against cancer. Each time an exhibitor competes wearing pink on November 28, he or she will receive a special pink “Rein In Cancer” wristband, compliments of Pro Management. The wristbands will also be for sale in the NRHA Show office, the NRHA Outfitters booth, the National Reining Breeders Classic booth, and the Shorty’s Caboy Hattery booth. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the wristbands will be donated to the Shirley Bowman Fund at the OU Cancer Center.

Win a Yearling Colt for $10
Be sure to buy your tickets to win the 2007 Raffle horse.  The winner will be drawn during the NRHA Futurity Finals.  Tim and Colleen McQuay, of Tioga, Texas, have generously donated a yearling colt, Cashin’ Out, to be raffled off during the Futurity.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from NRHyA members..  The drawing will be held Saturday, December 1 and you don’t have to be present to win.  All proceeds will benefit the NRHyA.

Futurity Prospect to be Auctioned for NRHyA
The NRHyA would like to thank Carol Rose, of Gainesville, Texas, for her donation of a yearling filly to be sold at the NRHA/Markel Insurance Futurity Prospect Sale.  Lenas Summer Fun is By Shiners Lena Doc and out of Zans Summer Sun.  All proceeds from the sale of this horse will also benefit the NRHyA.

Great Food at the Futurity

The New NRHA Reiner—The Magazine You Deserve
For those of you that have a subscription to the NRHA Reiner you’ll notice some changes when your November issue arrives. In addition to a completely new design orchestrated by free-lance designer Lisa Wrigley, beginning with the November issue Dartmouth Printing will be printing the Reiner. Changing printers also resulted in a paper change and the distribution and mailing of the magazine. We hope that this change will help with the poor Reiner delivery we’ve experienced in the last couple of years.  And, of course, show results are no longer included in the Reiner.

Readers will also notice the fabulous photography of John Brasseaux, one of the horse industry’s finest and most respected photographers, throughout the Reiner.  After many months of thought, work and re-work, your dedicated Reiner staff is proud to present the new “look and feel” to your official publication. We believe we’ve given you the magazine you deserve! Hope you like it!

It’s Renewal Time
Coming to your mailbox any day… NRHA membership renewals!  If you don’t receive a renewal notice go to the NRHA website or contact the NRHA Office for a renewal form.  You won’t want to miss a single issue of NRHA’s newest member benefit – the NRHA Reiner.  Subscribers will see a whole new Reiner beginning in November.  The look has been updated and the contents will contain more of what readers are looking for – All Things Reining.

Remember you will not receive the NRHA Reiner until you renew your membership.  Please allow plenty of time for processing!  In order to receive the January NRHA Reiner, your membership must be in the NRHA Office and processed by December 5, 2007, so don’t delay.

The ’08 Convention will feature six days of important NRHA business along with a good mix of fun and sightseeing!  Members can look forward to a Show Secretary Seminar, Judges Applicant Seminar, Affiliate Congress, Full Board of Directors meeting, Committee meetings with open sessions, 2008 NRHA Hall of Fame Inductions along with the 2007 Awards Banquet.  Attendees are also invited to an Evening in Monte Carlo – Casino Night; a fundraiser presented by the RHSF.

The NRHA Convention will be held at the Renaissance Oklahoma City Hotel Downtown, just two blocks from the historic Bricktown area.  There are a lot more activities in the works – so check back for further details about the schedule along with registration information.
