There should be something for everyone in this newsletter…2006 proposed rule changes, notification of the fall membership meeting, affiliate sponsor news, Rookie Day information, Sire & Dam Program Awards, Reiner Reader Survey winners, a hint from the Finance Department, a deadline reminder for Hall of Fame nominations, FEI World Reining Masters Finals and USEF North American Young Riders Championship bid information, a request for help from the Director of Marketing, and the list goes on.
2006 Proposed Rule Changes Available
It's that time of year again. Time to review proposed changes to the NRHA Handbook. The final date for rule change submissions for the 2006 NRHA Handbook was June 18. According to the 2005 NRHA Handbook, "A rule change proposal must be reviewed at a minimum of two NRHA Board of Director meetings and published and presented to the general membership in the Reiner magazine and on the NRHA website."
Log on to the members only section of the NRHA website to view the proposed rule changes for 2006. Once there, you may view each proposed change, vote whether you are for or against a particular change, as well as send us your comments. All feedback from NRHA members will be submitted to and reviewed by the Board of Directors at the August Board of Directors meeting before being voted upon. All proposed changes will also be published in the August issue of the Reiner.
General Membership Meeting
The NRHA Fall Membership meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. EST. It will take place during the All American Quarter Horse Congress, Columbus, Ohio, in the Transportation Building, sometimes better known as The Corral. This meeting is extremely important as it is the last opportunity to cast your vote for the candidates running for Vice President and Directors. Members will also vote on proposed amendments to the NRHA By-Laws. If you are unable to attend, be sure and submit an absentee ballot to be received in the NRHA office by September 21, 2005. The ballot will be posted to the website soon.

Memo Information on Checks
When mailing in checks to NRHA or RHSF, please be sure to record what the check is for by noting an invoice number, Derby payment, Futurity payment, membership, NRHA Reiner magazine subscription, etc. This is extremely important. Without this information there is a good possibility that your payment will not be applied to the invoice on your statement. What that means is that the next time you get a statement, invoice 33907 (for example), would still be listed as unpaid. Unpaid debt could result in disciplinary action. Your co-operation with this will be greatly appreciated and will help everyone concerned.
