NRHA Says G’day to the Best Reiners in Australia
The best reiners in Australia are heading for the 2007 NRHA Australian Continental Affiliate Championships, August 1 – 4 in Gatton, Queensland. The Continental Championships are hosted by new member of the NRHA International Affiliate Program, Reining Australia. Reiners qualify for the Continental Championships by competing in their local affiliate shows.
Along with exciting reining from the best riders down under, judges with Reining Australia can now apply to become official NRHA approved judges. US Clinician Dori Schwartzenberger will conduct a Judges School on August 5-6 following the Australian Continental Championships.
Reining Australia affiliate show secretaries are also invited to attend a Show Secretary Seminar conducted by NRHA Sr. Director of Affiliate and Alliance Programs Debbie Drinko. Those that complete the Show Secretary Seminar will be NRHA Certified Show Secretaries/Managers. This certification is valid for 5 years. Beginning in 2008 all NRHA shows will be required to use an NRHA certified show secretary or manager.

Rule Change Confusion
Due to some unavoidable bad-timing, approved minutes from the August 5-6, 2006 board of directors meeting appeared in the July 2007 NRHA Reiner, leading some readers to think that the proposed rule changes contained in the minutes were for consideration this year. They are not. You can find the current proposed rule changes, for implementation in 2008, at the Members Only Section of the NRHA website www.nrha.com. The NRHA Board of Directors will vote on the 2007 proposed rule changes to take effect in 2008 at the August 11-12, 2007 board meeting.
