2007 NRHA Derby – One Month Away
The NRHA Derby is just four weeks away and we have some very exciting news to pass along about big changes, added money and Youth Day at the Derby! We are also compiling lists of our favorite restaurants and local attractions for you and your family to see while you’re in Oklahoma City for the Derby. It should be a fun-filled time and we look forward to seeing everyone at the NRHA Derby May 14-19 at the Oklahoma State Fair Park.
Nomination Late Fees Eliminated
The NRHA Board of Directors has decided to eliminate all nomination late fees for the 2007 NRHA Derby. The Board voted to drop these late fees at its meeting on Sunday, April 1 in Oklahoma City.
NRHA Executive Director Dan Wall says, “The Derby is a prestigious event for four, five and six year old horses and the Board did not want any exhibitors to skip the Derby this year because they might face the late fees of $250 or more. We also thought the construction at the State Fair arena was going to be more of a problem than what it really is. Only Barns 1 and 2 are affected, but there is still plenty of room to ride and plenty of stalls. Hopefully, with the lack of construction issues and the elimination of nomination late fees, this will encourage more reiners to make their plans to head to Oklahoma City this May.”
