The 2009 NRHA Australian Affiliate Championships will run August 5th-8th, 2009 in Tamworth, NSW Australia. The event will be held at the state of the art Australian Equine & Livestock Centre. Host affiliate, Reining Australia, is working diligently to get everything in place to ensure a seamless production. The event will welcome qualified riders from all across the continent of Australia. The qualifying period for the event is October 1st, 2008-June 15th, 2009. This will be the third year for this prestigious event.

The championships will also play host to the much anticipated annual Youth Team Tournament. Youth from around Australia will gather to participate in the Australia Affiliate Championships but also to participate in the youth team tournament. The youth are placed on teams of three and each team rides for points. The team earning the total highest amount of points will earn both an NRHA scholarship and a Youth Team Championship buckle. In addition, the Reining Australia Futurity show is held consecutively and will feature a futurity and derby, plus a full slate of ancillary events. The annual futurity is the largest and most prestigious Reining futurity held in the country. So whether competitors qualified for championships, are coming to show in the futurity or derby or are just looking for an NRHA –approved show, there is a place for everyone to compete and have a wonderful time. The champions will be the envy of many with a variety of NRHA awards such as Lawson and Morrison bronze trophies.
